Five Farmers Fresh Produce
Allen Clayton, 25, is the head farmer of the group. He has vast experience in farming; you could say that it runs through his blood. Allen has been farming ever since he could remember. He loves it!! What is so amazing about Allen is that he has another career, but he still chooses to do this on the side. That shows true dedication; just what F5 needs.
Five Farmers (F5) Fresh Produce is a group of youth entrepreneurs that was created by Glyen Holmes Sr. The mission of the group is to provide fresh produce to local school districts and grocery stores. We are a young group that have aspirations of doing great things in the "Eat Local and Regional" campaign. Please feel free to contact us for more information as needed.
Jamila McClinden, 25, is the group manager. She has a long history dealing with agriculture. This is primarily due to her father, Glyen Holmes. Jamila holds a BS in Human Service w/ a minor in Leadership Development. She also has a job through Florida A&M University serving as the program assistant Expanded Food Network Education Program (EFNEP). Jamila decided to join the group to show today's youth that there is another way to work with agriculture other than the farming part.
Glyen Holmes II, 24, holds a BS in Psychology and is currently working on his Master's in AgroBusiness. He is a special case in his self. He brings in a inside view to knowing how to interact with people on a different level; that many may never understand. Glyen decided on joining the group specifically to show that you can major in anything and still make a living in agriculture.
Hakeem Holmes, 21, is a student a Florida A&M University. He is majoring in AgroBuisness. His reasoning in joining the group is to show his fellow classmates that there is truly another way of dealing with agriculture. That everything that they are learning can actually be put into motion, and are not just words in a book.
About F5 Fresh Produce
Jimmie McClinden Jr., 27, is the prime example of what Five Farmers stands for. We wanted someone who had no prior agriculture experience to come and see what agriculture truly has to offer. Jimmie has a full time outside of the group. He comes in when he is free to learn what goes on behind the scenes. At the same time Jimmie is also learning the business side of things. He also decided to join the group was he truly just wanted to see how much money there was to be made through agriculture.
